Dental Veneers
Chicago, IL

Woman smiling after getting dental veneers at Medhat Dental Excellence in Chicago, IL At Medhat Dental Excellence, we can correct years of stains resulting from foods, coffee, and tobacco consumption. Our veneers can also help correct discolored, cracked, chipped, and worn out teeth. They can also help to close dreadful gaps between teeth. Porcelain veneers, also known as composite veneers, are stronger kinds of veneers that usually last longer as they're bonded to teeth.

We make an impression of your tooth and mold a veneer. As veneers require the removal of a little bit of enamel, they're non-reversible and permanent. The dental veneer process involves buffing a tooth, removing a very thin tooth layer to accommodate the veneer's thickness, a tooth impression, and finally bonding the veneer to your tooth using special cement. We then use a special light to finish the process.

Dental Veneers Overview

Dental veneers are custom-made, wafer-thin shells made of a porcelain material with the same color as a tooth. After creating them specifically for you, we bond these shells to the front area of your real teeth to make them whiter and improve the appearance of your smile. It generally takes a couple of appointments to get veneers - the first to take impressions of your teeth and the second to cement the veneers to your teeth.

Veneers are a type of cosmetic dentistry fix you can consider to correct the size or shape of your teeth or whiten them. Cosmetic veneers are an excellent way to enhance your appearance. They can also help to correct discolored, chipped, broken, worn down, uneven, misaligned, or irregularly shaped teeth. They can also fix teeth that have unsightly spaces between them.

Veneers can last for 7-20 years. Sometimes they can chip or come off. If this occurs, we can repair or replace the porcelain. In addition, the living gum and tooth tissue surrounding the veneers will gradually experience changes that might require adjustments to your veneers.

Veneer Placement Procedure

We may administer local anesthetic to ensure you're completely comfortable during veneer placement. Our dentist will take off the interim veneers and try permanent ones on you to see if they fit. You can check out the fit, color, and shape of the veneers before they're fitted. If alterations are required, you should tell our dentist during the procedure. Once attached, veneers can't be altered.

If all goes well, our dentist will permanently attach the brand new porcelain veneers to the front part of your teeth. Firstly, they'll apply some mild acidic liquid to clean the outer area of your teeth. They'll then bond the porcelain veneers in place. To cure the bonding material, they'll use a small special light. The dentist will ensure your veneers allow enough flossing space.

Our veneers are a great way to get a major smile makeover. In as few as a couple of appointments to our dental practice, you can get an absolutely new smile.
